Against the background of the current dramatic scenes of the war in Ukraine, Platform Dresden eV together with the Ukrainian Greek Catholic personal parish of St. Mykhailo in Dresden (www.ukrainischekirche.de) launched the initiative "Ukrainian Coordination Center in Dresden". The aim of this initiative is to organize and coordinate an extremely high level of willingness to help in Dresden and its environs. Various areas have been identified, such as humanitarian aid for civil defense of Ukraine and refugees, medicines and medical equipment for Ukraine, transportation of refugees and logistics for humanitarian aid, housing, social networks and integration, culture and education.

The Gorbany-Vytvytskyi family
Victoria and Richard Gorban, a married couple of teachers from Ivano-Frankivsk region, have been involved in volunteer work since 2014: they organize charity concerts, support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and provide humanitarian aid to victims. The parish headed by Father Richard actively runs a social bakery, raises funds for drones, ammunition, and medicines for the military, and cares for wounded soldiers.
The younger generation of the family—Stepan and Evelina Vytvytskyi—continue the volunteer mission in Canada. They collaborate with the Canadian organization Save Ukrainian Soldier, organizing cultural events to raise funds for tactical medicine for Ukrainian defenders. Evelina has created a choir and also runs the Ukrainian Festival in Nanimo. The sacred couple is assisted by Victoria and Richard's younger son, Sebastian Horban, in helping Ukrainian refugee children adapt.

In times of war, everyone contributes to the common victory. Vitaliy Ganzhenko, director of Sloboda Ko LLC, did not stand aside — the company regularly provides drinking water to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Kalyna organization in Finland is a striking example of how one person's initiative can become the source of a great common cause. The story of “Finnish Kalyna” began, as with many similar initiatives around the world, with the need to act. From the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, relentless work began. By the evening of February 26, 2022, premises had been found where the collection of humanitarian aid began. The Finns brought everything they could share, remembering their own history of fighting for freedom in the Winter War against the Soviet Union.
Aurica Rotaru is a People's Artist of Ukraine and a member of the renowned Rotaru artistic family. Her work is distinguished by its sincerity, warmth, and deep respect for Ukrainian and Moldovan cultural traditions.
